Experience everyday life in rural Vietnam by bus and boat on a day trip to the My Son Sanctuary and along the Thu Bon River. Depart Hoi An via the Cua Dai Bridge and get spectacular views of the Hoi An river system and Cham Islands as you depart.

Arrive at a fishing village in time to see the market traders selling their evening catch. Continue into the “Valley of Kings” to discover the former 4th to 15th-century capital of the Champa Kingdom. Watch a traditional dance performance before making your way along a jungle trail. Then, explore the Cham ruins and learn the history of the sanctuary where the Cham monarchs were buried.

Head back towards Hoi An for your lunch which served on the boat on the Thu Bon River. Climb aboard at the Nguyen Hoang boat dock and sail past local villages such as the fishing village of Duy Hai and the carpentry village of Kim Bong. Enjoy a light noodle lunch of pork or seafood onboard the boat as you cruise back to the Nguyen Hoang boat dock in the Old Town. The tour finishes at approximately 2:00 PM then you will be free to explore the old town or return to your hotel by bus.

After being collected from your Hoi An accommodation at 7:00 AM, stop at the tour operator’s office in Da nang then transfer to a big bus to Ba Na Hills. Arrive at the Ba Na Hills station at around 9:30 AM

 

When you arrive at the cable car’s second station, you can visit a variety of attractions.

 

Sights include the Debay wine cellar and the Linh Ung pagoda, with its 27-meter-high Buddha statue. Enjoy a walk through the Loc Uyen garden. Visit Entertainment Paradise by cable car, where you can participate in many exciting games, discover the ghost house and watch 4D films.

 

After a meal at a local restaurant, head to a natural monkey garden and God Mountain – the highest peak in central Vietnam.

4. Cham Island: Snorkeling Tour

When you arrive in Hue, your visit stop will at the Citadel, Hue’s premier attraction. On your morning tour of the site you’ll see the Imperial City, the Forbidden Purple City, and the Emperor’s Private Residence.

Following the Citadel visit you’ll have a short break for lunch, followed by a boat trip on the Perfume River. Stop at Thien Mu Pagoda, considered by many as the unofficial symbol of Hue. This is an active Buddhist monastery with its origins dating back to 1601.

One of its most poignant displays is a car belonging to a former monk, who in 1963 drove to Saigon and set himself on fire in protest against the South Vietnamese regime and its cruel treatment of Buddhist monks and followers.

Your final visit of the day will be to the Khai Dinh Royal Tomb, designed using feng shui principles, and built to blend in with its natural surroundings.
